Client Objectives:

The history of Gidleigh Station dates back to 1833 and has established itself as one of most important colonial homesteads in Australia and features in Historic Homesteads of Australia, Published by the Council of National Trusts in 1982. The Station required a refurbishments to a number of old cottages on the property. The client brief was to repair the tired cottages whilst maintaining the rural heritage and charm throughout.

Scope of Work:

Megham Building Services was engaged by Gidleigh Pastrol Co. to carry out the refurbishment of the eight cottages that reside within the Station. Each cottage received various scopes of work depending on the initial condition. These scopes, included but were not limited to, Complete renovations, complete services upgrade, joinery, painting, flooring, carpentry, etc. Megham Building Serviced were also engaged to complete works to the existing homestead, the construction of storage shed, and the grading of the roads throughout the property.

Achievements:

The completion of work has enabled the station to continue to uphold its charm. The cottages now showcase the properties rich heritage, whilst having the benefits of modern construction that meets contemporary building standards.
